In the Basildon borough of Essex, you can find the charming town of Billericay.
Lying withing the London basin, it is a perfect commuter town just 28 miles from London, and not far from the sea either.

It is thought that it has been occupied since the Bronze Age and evidence of Roman occupation has been found too.
Although the town wasnt mentioned in the Domesday Book, this is only because it did not yet have its own parish.
Nowadays, notable sites include the Boating Lake and the High Street with its St Mary Magdalen Church.
